I saw an "Entertainment Value" at Discovery Education Review corner site that included:
  • Does the software possess significant "kid appeal"?
  • Are learning games made to be fun enough that kids want to try them again?
  • Are there engaging scenes and/or characters?
  • Will children want to replay the game/use the software in the long run?

I think that these would be a great addition to the motivational and student control section.

True, although this might also be considered under overall fun or student satisfaction with the product. I could imagine several possible items under this general criteria - ease of use, fun factor, student comments regarding product, etc. Plus, this might only apply to specific instructional media products - i.e., games or game-like products - and not others.
